Schaller Auto World Builds State-of-the-art Collision Repair Facility

Company History

In the spring of 1953 Schaller Oldsmobile, Inc. was founded in New Britain, CT by Gustave Schaller as a small, family-owned dealership to serve the automotive needs of a growing community.

In the first year of business, Schaller Oldsmobile employed a mere 8 people and sold approximately 200 vehicles.  But as the business gained recognition for their exceptional customer care and as the marketplace grew, so did the Schaller family business.

Today the Schaller business has 4 automotive franchises (Honda, Mitsubishi, Subaru and Acura) and one of the most state-of-the-art Collision Repair centers in the Northeast.  Schaller Auto World has grown to over 150 people with sales of over 3,000 new and used vehicles per year, while still giving the community the benefit of a family-owned business.  The business operates out of nearly 100,000 square feet of buildings and covers nearly 20 acres of property in all locations.

Setting a standard for being a leader for others to follow, with the their totally new Collision facility located at 55 Veterans Drive in New Britain, is nothing new to the Schaller business; as they were the very first dealer to establish an Acura dealership in the state of CT, opening the store in 1986.   This time, Schaller Auto World leads the way by opening their new and absolutely stunning Collision facility in December of 2011 at a cost over $3 million.

Designed and engineered by Managed Air Systems (MAS) the new Schaller collision shop has incorporated some wonderful features to make the facility as convenient as possible for customers.  For example, there is no need to search for your rental car company or to stand around waiting, as Enterprise Rental Car operates an office with rental cars right on site.  Not only is the rental car company on site, but (2) insurance companies, The Travelers and Progressive Auto have their insurance office on site to meet the customers when bringing their cars in for repair.

The design of this new facility incorporated an inspection drive lane, where customers can drop and pick up their cars without ever stepping outside if the weather is bad.  It also allows for the Schaller team, insurance companies and customers to review their damaged cars, while in the comfort of the buildings facility to collaborate on what’s wrong and what needs to be repaired.

In the backend, where all the magic is performed, technicians are greeted by a 100% air-conditioned facility, with beautiful Autostone floor tile and energy efficient T8 lighting throughout, providing for one of the most comfortable, cleanest and brightest car repair facilities around.

When it comes to equipment, no expense was spared.  With top of the line Eco friendly equipment such as booths, prep stations, compressors, and central vacuums the shops 25,000 sqft facility is a true production operation, capable of processing over 25 cars a day.

The shops major equipment installed includes:

  • Two Global Finishing Solution Eco Ultra Plus 1 Paint Booths
